2022 was a very difficult period for investors as both the stock market and bond market experienced bear markets as inflation accelerated, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and severe Covid in China roiled the commodity markets and supply chains, forcing the Federal Reserve to aggressively raise interest rates to slow down seemingly accelerating inflation. As we enter 2023, these aggressive actions seem to be working but many questions whether the US will be entering a recession this year or next year. As a result, there are many questions about whether the equity bear market will continue or even get worse in the first half of the year.

Jonathan Scharlau will review the important economic and market factors that impacted 2022 and will provide an outlook for 2023 and review the potential risks and opportunities. In addition, he will review the recently passed Secure 2.0 Act and how it will impact retirement planning in the years ahead.
