After almost a decade of historic low interest rates and market volatility, the life insurance industry is experiencing issues never seen before. In the last few years some life insurance carriers have raised the cost of insurance inside policies by up to 600 percent causing carrying cost premiums to double and triple and forcing policy holders to make painful decisions on their life insurance coverage. In addition, the historically low interest rates are also causing policy performance to suffer as most permanent life insurance is invested in fixed instruments. The fallout is affecting estate plans nationwide. This breakfast session will address the current issues around life insurance and life insurance policy management and provide insight into problems that, unfortunately, may be with us for a while.
